We are at a pivot point in the current BULL long wave starting in March, 2009. We have had a 10% correction and now are at a possible reversal of the wave to a BEAR if we dip 20% from the highs in April 2010. If we move back to the highs of April, 2010 above DOW 11,200 then an extension of the BULL Long Wave kicks in.
The collective emotional mood has been reinforced by the apocalyptic movies helping investors to climb the wall of worry by feeling, "hell, it's bad but not the end of the world". We've also been able to laugh at adversity with movies like The Hangover assisting us in believing that, no matter how absurd events are, and how crazy we feel at the moment, we will get Doug to the wedding on time - I.E. get our investments back on track in time for retirement.
